Benefits of Being a CBA Church

The Columbus Baptist Association exists to help local churches fulfill their God-given mission. The Association exists for the benefit of the churches, not the other way around. Your Associational Missionary is your church’s missionary; he is here to assist you and to be a resource for you.

The challenge of the Great Commission is great and more than any one church can accomplish alone. You were not made to be alone, and we have learned that we can accomplish far more when we work together. The Association allows us to work together to accomplish the mission God has given us, and it provides us with a place of belonging.

Partnering with the Association opens a treasure trove of support. We can provide resources and training to your church. The following is a partial list of opportunities that are available through the CBA. We want to be your main point of contact when you need any of the following:

Since the Association is the denominational entity closest to the local church, we can plan and promote training opportunities for teachers, deacons, pastors, and age-appropriate leaders that are tailored for our area and that specifically target the needs of your church. This kind of training and development would otherwise be out of reach for many churches and pastors.

Eighty percent of church leaders perceive the Association as a strategic partner in helping local churches fulfill the Great Commission. They want to engage lostness across the street and across the sea. Mission Columbus is a prime opportunity for churches to connect the gospel with their community. The CBA can facilitate connections with NAMB and IMB missionaries all over the world.

Some churches need a boost or even a fresh approach. The CBA is poised to help restore health to hurting churches. Through our Church Planter Residency Program, we will be able to provide trained, educated, and experienced men called by God to such work. Columbus needs more churches until every citizen is reached with the gospel.

Associational Mission Strategists are in a unique position to help churches transition well between pastors. Your Associational Missionary lives in, loves, and knows your community and your church. He wants to see you succeed for the glory of God and by the power of God. He can be your go-to person for coaching, providing the church with stability and a renewed strategy.

Healthy churches require healthy pastors: healthy in body, mind, soul, and spirit. Yet, many pastors have no one to turn to for help. The Association can provide that kind of relationship. He never has to serve as if he is on a deserted island. Iron will sharpen iron, and the church will be the beneficiary.
